I have a new found likeness for haiku and the haiku community. This class has truly inspired some great writings out of me. Being able to sit in a quiet room and focus on the task at hand. Just remembering things that have happened in my life and pondering the things that will be happening in my life is my fuel for haiku. I have been able to share my haiku collection and will continue to enjoy others as I part from this class.

on the terrace—
the silence broken
between mom and son

an eagle stares down
i look up
silence

job interview
palms sweating
awaiting a decision

she leaves
i roll over
taking her pillow

a cold country road
no one in sight
stranded

a cup of coffee
that I sip
school is closed
