Flashing lights
During high tide
Savior

sisters unite
to peek at Christmas bounty
sibling rivalry is forgotten

grandma's kitchen
smells
of chocolate

Chatty Kathy.
My sister is remembered
Through an antique shop window.

I am helpless.
The monitors beep and squawk.
A tiny life in their hands.

Kids
In the car
Family vacation

dark storm clouds
fake fingernails
ugly scowl

Black and Blue face
No longer can I protect this monster
Again, wearing the shades

watering her dirt lawn
smell the Lysol
even outside

unbearable guilt
through the
barred window

lace hankie tucked in a cuff
the scent of medicine
alone on the couch

walking on a warm spring day
content
with her lonely life

Campfire flames
As nighttime falls
Scattered stars

Hunter
In the tree
Dawn

bed on wheels
people above me
someone help

CNN
I'm looking for bare feet.
Are they his?

winter morning
children sleeping soundly
present wrapped

arms full
close the car door
with a hip

beside the broken space heater
our breath
floats

Fragrant spices
Memories dance in my head
Of you are missed

an ivory white dress
her mother's pearls
