The Reason I Am Who I Am

by
Marletta Thomas

I have learned that haiku relaxes me and writing haiku is not hard. I have also found clarity and peace in the haiku's that I write.  I have also found that haiku is very popular around the world. It is a very prestige form of poetry. I chose these haiku because they touched me such a way that I had no idea that some of these things within me were happening. I did not find out how some of my haiku affected my life until I learned of the form of haiku. I can appreciate the fact that you can write haiku about whatever you wish.

I have learned from the authors of haiku that haiku can come from so many experiences like life, work, personal, family. Haiku can come from so many walks of life. Haiku has also helped my walk in my religion so I am grateful for Mr. Randy Brooks for introducing haiku to me. Haiku has changed my life in such a way of relaxation something I did not have until I found haiku.

Haiku has also given me relaxation with my ten-year-old daughter. She finds haiku as a project that mommy and daughter do together and that makes her happy so therefore it makes me happy. Because haiku helps me understand my family more because of my family is very important to me and I treasure everything we do together. My favorite Haiku I have written is . . .
