Haiku Kukai 4 Snow & Love haiku

Global Haiku--Kukai 4, Spring 2007

six hours straight
we play in the yard
mom ready with cocoa

the wind
rattles the windows
surround sound

roses and chocolates
cards and bears
it’s all over-rated

snowflakes fall
perfect time
for a winter kiss

pink red white
could this be love
candy and flowers

all bundled up
I like it when you call me
your snowbunny

Valentine’s day
girls with flowers
will I ever be special

herhandsshakeassheopensthebox

home made Valentine
glitter all over
the freaking carpet

laying in bed
when will it be      my last time
alone

a diamond ring
flies across the room
bounces off his forehead

snow day
cranky old lady
tells me how to shovel

could they tell
did they see my sinner eyes
no longer a little girl

two young boys whisper
and peek in the casket
where's his feet?

overplayed guy problems
yesterday
i went to a funeral

snow covered house
inside a sick baby
snuggling on mother’s lap

lilies in her hand
she glides
down the aisle

warm shower
toes burning
from the coldness of snow

sigh…
snow up to
my knees

blizzard
keeping them apart
on Valentine’s Day

cold night
even long distance
my heart aches without you

listed in a relationship
with her
I hate facebook today

been sleeping all day
no cares in my world
i'm your valentine kitty

pink plastic sleds
trail behind us
never too old to play in the snow

blizzard
my tracks
already vanished

in the refrigerator
old mustard
snow drifts

snowed in
on valentine’s day
i love my red roses

flowers candy
teddy bear
still no kiss

out to dinner
dressed in black
mourning valentine’s day

jukebox lessons
fall on
deaf ears

roads covered in snow
I arrive in one piece
in my little red car

I didn't know
I missed it
until I had it again

my roommate
on her way to the library
snow soaked jeans

sand between your toes
from the first date
fire in your eyes

eyes closed…
he imagines
someone else

snowed in
watching movies
new found love

swollen wrist
a cringe as he
shovels snow

snowed in together
on valentine's day
how lucky

paper cut
from the Valentine
who left me

I stab you
. . . no blood
emotionless robot

I look in the mirror
the girl starring back at me
is beautiful and lonely

feel the wind
in your hair—
you are not alone

snow day
warm soup and no reasons
to leave the apartment

a dozen roses
a dozen kisses
one moment in time

heart racing
will he
won’t he

thump—
I told her
not to sled head first

rain
floods
my heart bones

trekking through
the snow
plop

Valentine’s Day break up
two years ago
love never returned

tears of joy
thinking of the day
we meet again

sneak
into the stock room
nibble on dinner

February 13
tonsillitis
my party for me

shaken woman
looks at the damage
red plastic from break lights

high schoolers
wandering in packs
snow day

stepping on
bunny Slopes
just go get to class

our only day
we pretend we’re kids
reality starts tomorrow

reminding me of him
no chocolate
rest in piece
