Kukai 8 - Springtime

Global Haiku--Kukai 8, March 2007
Selectors: Rider H. & Philip D.

walking around
in flip flops
sinking in the mud

tanning beds
loud music blaring
is that NSYNC?

downpour
he speeds along
hugging the white line

technically spring
the trees
still a bare brown

the heat goes off
the windows are open
it’s so noisy now

finally warm out
I want to cook out
rain…

The lawn mowers mow
I wake up early
Fresh cut grass

Hot and Humid
The ice cream melts
Im sticky and sweet
the bugs love it

The sun it out
Im out of the house
No more hibernation

waking up late
going to bed later
last spring break

thermostat on 74
77 outside
can’t we turn it off?

warm days
low cut shirts
cleavage appreciation month

can’t open
my eyes
spring pollen

walk through
the park
smell of spring

baby bunnies
eating the
flower bed

flip flops
brave
the melting snow

the sun heats up
our souls
come out to play

flowers blooming
pollen saturates air
squirrel's frolicking in canopy

warm weather
I wear less clothing
women do likewise

new breakup
gray clouds above
raindrops on my cheeks

lost innocence
the orchid
spreads its petals

lying on the
vibrant green blades
rebirth

overcrowded park
families coming out
of hibernation

driving through
a hint of color
though dead grass

popping up
throught he ground
new flowers

birds chirping
leaves growing
winters over

thawing ground
green buds breakthrough
to reach the sun

yellow tulip
hiding in the petals
a black furry spider

March morning
the robin
hops beside me

Red and yellow
heavy with dew
tulips

window open
thief crawls in
muddy prints on floor

walking through the door
a graze of spring wind
cherry tree blooms

moonlight sky
cool breeze
open bedroom window

rain patters on pavement
old stories bring laughter
to the mourning

flocks of people
gather in the gray rain
a child plays tag

warm march morning
glimmers of springtime
we watch as the casket is lowered

        smelling the charcoal
    of the grill
the leaves slid away.

New York smells
Food, pollution, flowers
Spring time

Snow melts
Soaks the bottom
Of my pants

purple lilacs in bloom
bumps and hives
all over

rain, snow, sunshine
repeat all again
I love Spring

warm spring night
I write you another letter
sharing one heart

First rain
Steam off of the
Black top

Spring afternoon
Water trickles
Off of the purple lilacs

Petals bloom
On every tree…
Sneezes forthcoming

Spring-
The time for young love
Makes me sick

days get warmer…
my deodorant
gets a work out

in the old barn
sunbeams catching
on the dusty web

longer days
children’s laughter
fills the air

while trees blossom
grass turns to green
the earth comes to life

crack of the bat
smell of popcorn
another double header

thick humidity
the final five cylons
beats the Final Four

in my bed
under the couch
Easter grass

only thin and blonde
on spring break
please

we force tulips
on the windowsill
springtime

crosswalk flashing
runners spring off
into the park

straight up
into the spring sky
water rocket

Easter morning
new white dress
brown with mud
