Whispers Without Words

Michelle Ginger Dixson

Hello, and thank you for reading my haiku book. It has been an interesting semester for mein the Global Haiku seminar (Spring of 2008). I have learned many different things and many of my perspectives changed. My haiku range from many things, including: my childhood, the scenery I have seen, and my current relationships. I hope you enjoy my work!

Michelle Dixson is an Accounting major and Communications minor at Millikin University. She is from Decatur, IL and likes reading and writing haiku!

my cold fingertips
touch his bareback
a shiver

the last bell rings…
the student smiles widen
into summer vacation

spring break
his phone
low on minutes

glowing screen—
letters in the light
my written thoughts

touching my face
painting on me
a cricket chirps…

watching Minnie
on the bathroom wall—
timeout

caffeine
dull throb
in the bitter wind

bare claws
tiny arms
in amber

lazy circles
on his arm
late night movie
