first snow
cold hands
digging out my car

spring evening
the smell of her hair
as we hold each other tight

             cold winter night
shuffling    through her    photos
             tears fill my eyes

looking through the glass
the empty hospital bed
where she used to lie

just friends . . .
she says
no chance

cool spring night
cars zooming by
as we walk home

the old wooden desk
hours at a time
grandpa worked so hard

warm summer night
lightning bugs fly
as we talk of the past

hot, muggy day
peeling off clothes
to jump in the pool
