Global Haiku Festival

April 14-16, 2000
Millikin University
Decatur, Illinois

Welcome to the Global Haiku Festival web site. This web site is a record of the events and participants of the Global Haiku Festival which was sponsored by Millikin University, the Haiku Society of America, The Sister Cities Program and many individuals.

Three haiku readings, sixteen academic presentations, two haiku art exhibits, one haiku walk, two haiku contests, a busy book room and dozens of blossoming redbud trees add up to a very full weekend of haiku. The Haiku Society of America spring quarterly meeting was held on April 14-16, 2000 as a Global Haiku Festival at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.

Keynote speaker, Ban'ya Natsuishi, and Mr. Hiroshi Kibori taste a couple of the redbud blossoms that were in abundance on the Millikin University campus.
