Haiku of Love

surrounded by his love
yet by
herself

her wedding day
by his side—
daddy’s little girl

desirable man
her eyes trail
off the path

passing by
his forgotten smell
floating memories

February breeze
on the rough picnic table
July kiss

bride-to-be
holds her face
running out the church

fresh-white
snowflake falling
together anew

memorizing you
everyday love
each print revealed

door closed
roses on the dresser
making-up

our future appears
glittering ring
ecstasy

clenching his hand
arm rest in the way
scary movie

stupid drunk
college party
I don’t know you

come home to me
drunk
you love me even more

our voices ringing
in every church corner
His hands on us

laying in the damp grass
an evening star
complete our universe

pressing my fingers to my eyes
laying on the cement
you hurt me more than you know

the other woman
(whore)
my old friend

spring, spring
what new thing
will you bring

arms around
one another . . .
the music stopped

glittering on the water
the sun’s rays—
sunset walk

laying by your side
in bed—
soothing every wound

sea shell
never ending spiral—
the design of your eyes

his salty scent upon my body
sunkissed

hot afternoon nap
up against me—
curled up cats

together
in the sunlight
diamonds sparkle

another compromise
agreeing to disagree—
lovers quarrel

she runs in the field
away from him—
fireflies rise
